Blake Cateris
From punk bands to heartfelt acoustic songs with poignant lyrics, Blake’s impressive musical resume has seen him share the stage with the likes of Frank Turner, Beans On Toast, CJ Ramone, Danny Worsnop, Gyroscope, Hard-Ons, The Getaway Plan and even Brett Lee.
The acclaimed Sydney singer-songwriter released his debut EP Rearranging Deck Chairs On The Titanic in November 2023, and took his tour across four continents, performing 42 shows across Australia, the UK, Germany, and Canada - these spanned from cozy intimate wohnzimmer shows in Germany, boat performances around Sydney Harbour, the North Sea and Lake Ontario to 2000 Trees and Green Gathering Festival.
The following year, he was invited to play at Tasmania's Cygnet Folk Festival alongside Beans On Toast and William Crighton before returning to the UK and Europe in May and June 2025 for 37 shows including more garden and livingroom shows, house parties and performances at Ey Up Mi Duck 2025 & Katiesfest in the UK and Resäcker Open Air and Ract!Festival in Germany.
In June 2024, he also released his first collection of poetry and prose titled Throw Down Your Weapons.
Drawing inspiration from the works of songwriters that connect at the core of the soul Blake prides himself on providing anecdotes that inform, humour and provide moments of reflection for listeners and he is hungry to make his impact on audiences and individuals alike.
He has also played well over 2,600 shows since his first at the age of 13.

“Blake Cateris is a rising artist that you absolutely don’t want to slip through your fingers. You will be truly inspired by the authentic vulnerability shared through his music.”
“Blake channels all my bewilderment at the world and the uncertainty of growing up, growing older neatly wrapping it in an addictive, sing-along sound.”

Cateris says,
“There’s a pretty overt feeling of lostness in this body of work and it takes a journey through the maelstrom of emotions that have washed over me the past few years of my travels, getting the call to work and live overseas as a touring musician, having that ripped away from me by lockdowns, the implosion of many aspects of my personal life and being thrust into an entirely new set of circumstances to navigate whilst trying to heal.”
“Introspective and authentic, ranging from fist in the air pop punk to
intricate, almost-whispered folk.” - Johnny Marriot (PET NEEDS, UK)
"Coming across this idiom “rearranging deckchairs on the titanic”, I became so fascinated by it’s imagery and metaphor, I began to wax philosophical to myself around the idea. How my veneered
goals and exacted triumphs have changed almost nothing in the grand scheme of things. Turning to healthier and lighter ways of living through new creative interests and projects, and how they can be far more fulfilling than what I’ve previously broken my back trying to accomplish."
“`This EP is a perfect encapsulation of the tumult of life in general and specifically the last couple of years of societal craziness" - Glenn Esmond (The Butterfly Effect)
“Blake Cateris is an artist obsessed with the craft of it all. Every stroke of every strum, every note from his throat comes off like it’s been pored over, fine-tuned, and pondered deeply. It’s never weighed down though, even the tracks with heavier ideas are light and aerated, delicate and agile on their toes despite the songwriting heft and vocal muscle they carry.”
